The Castlegar Rebels Hockey Team is searching for a Head Coach for the
2010-2011 season and beyond.

The Castlegar Rebels are currently
looking for a Head Coach for our hockey team. Reporting to the President
of our Board you will support our club in all areas as they relate to team
activities, fund raising, promotions, budget management and all
appropriate administrative responsibilities. The position requires that
you have values consistent with the standards of the Rebels organization.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
You will provide leadership to the Rebel Hockey
program through the coaching, recruitment/retention and public relations
duties required in organizing a competitive and successful team, while
promoting academic success for the athletes under your supervision. As
well, you will be responsible for developing relations with the community
at large. Specifically you
will be responsible for:
Coaching:

Lead a competitively successful
program

Direct your team to a common and
cohesive goal

Instill a desire to succeed and
attain higher goals to your team and each individual player
-
Create a full seasonal plan,
taking into consideration all aspects of conditioning, preparation
strategies, and league competition.
Administration:
-
Promote student academic success
-
Regulation Compliance - aware of
and working with all BCAHA, KIJHL and Hockey Canada playing regulations
-
Maintain an active and focused
recruiting plan
-
Sound organization through
planning or delegation
-
management of yearly budget
Promotion and Fund Raising:
Personal Effectiveness:

Display a friendly, courteous,
professional demeanour to colleagues, officials, players, and public

Deals with issues and
individuals in a positive manner

Support athletes and deal with
them in an honest, professional manner
Requirements:
-
minimum of five years coaching
experience in hockey, preferably at the Junior level. Consideration in
lieu of coaching experience will be given to a player participating at a
Junior or higher level.

Completion of the appropriate
BCAHA Hockey coaching certifications will be required.

Strong communication,
administration skills and budget management required
-
knowledge of MS Office suite an
asset

begin on April 10, 2010; however, the position will remain posted until
filled. Salary will be negotiated.
